September 2, 1990 is the most important date for the Pridnestrovian people, who chose a difficult, but the only true path to freedom and independence, the congratulatory message of Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev to the head of the Pridnestrovian Foreign Ministry Vitaly Ignatiev on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of the formation of the Republic, reads.
"It is impossible not to mention the enormous contribution of the diplomatic service of Pridnestrovie to the process of state building, building up constructive international dialogue and implementing key issues on the foreign policy agenda," the text of the message, published on the official website of the South Ossetian Foreign Ministry, says.
On September 2, 1990, the II Extraordinary Congress of People's Deputies of all levels of Transnistria was held in Tiraspol, at which the creation of the PMSSR within the USSR was announced. Three official state languages were established - Russian, Moldovan and Ukrainian.
