A ceremonial event dedicated to the National Flag Day of the Republic of South Ossetia was held on the Theater Square of the hero city of Tskhinval.
The official ceremony of raising the national flag of the Republic took place at the beginning of the event.
The event was attended by the leadership of the Republic, headed by President Alan Gagloev, the heads of ministries and departments, the Russian Ambassador to South Ossetia Marat Kulakhmetov, as well as the public of the Republic.
Alan Gagloev congratulated the participants of the event on the National Flag Day of the Republic of South Ossetia.
“The national tricolor is the image of the ideals, hopes and aspirations of our people, the image of a dream of well-being, prosperity and happiness under the peaceful sky of Alania,” the President has noted.
Alan Gagloev has expressed confidence that the State Flag will always be a sacred symbol for all generations of citizens, evoking a sense of pride for South Ossetia.
People's Artists of South Ossetia - Vano Bekoev, Soslan Khasiev, Nina Gatikoeva and Honored Artist of Abkhazia Marta Kharebova performed Vadim Kharebov's song "Tskhinval".
The event was decorated by the State Song and Dance Group "Simd".
Pupils of secondary schools carried a 40-meter canvas of the tricolor of the Republic across the main square of the capital. Also, young horsemen in national clothes rode horses with flags in their hands.
