The opening of the exhibition "No Statute of Limitations" about the crimes of fascism during the Great Patriotic War took place in Tskhinval.
The event was attended by representatives of the South Ossetian leadership, employees of the Russian Embassy in the Republic of South Ossetia, teachers and students of the South Ossetian State University, and the public of the Republic.
The head of the Russian House in Tskhinval Sergey Komissarov noted the importance of remembering the events of the Great Patriotic War, the crimes of fascism against the Soviet people.
"Everyone knows how hard it was for the peoples of the USSR to win the Great Patriotic War. Today, this topic does not lose its relevance; we see how hard we are fighting within the framework of the special military operation against fascism, which has raised its head again. South Ossetia feels this, probably, more acutely than other countries. We must remember this and pass it on from generation to generation,” Komissarov said.
The head of the board of the National Fund for Support of Social Programs of Russia Andrey Sergeev noted the importance of preserving historical memory.
“It is a great honor for me to participate in this event. We are really doing a great job together to preserve historical memory, historical justice. And as long as we are united by common traditions, common values, common memory, we are strong,” Sergeev said.
In turn, rector of the South Ossetian State University Vadim Tedeev expressed gratitude to Andrey Sergeev and the International Institute for the Development of Communications MIR-MOST-OSSETIA Foundation for systematic assistance to the university in humanitarian matters.
“At the initiative of Andrey Nikolaevich Sergeev, a lot of work is being done to support our university, I also want to express gratitude to the ‘’Mir-Most-Ossetia’’ Foundation for personal scholarships, these are additional incentives to support our students,” Tedeev said.
It should be noted that the All-Russian project "No Statute of Limitations" was initiated by the Search Movement of Russia and was first presented in December 2018 at the 40th meeting of the Russian Organizing Committee "Victory".
The goal of the project is to preserve the historical memory of the tragedy of the civilian population of the USSR - victims of war crimes by the Nazis and their accomplices during the Great Patriotic War. Since 2020, participants of the Regional Branches of the All-Russian Public Movement "Search Movement of Russia" have been conducting active information and educational activities within the framework of the project in each region of the Russian Federation.
