Minister of Culture of South Ossetia Rada Dzagoeva, together with Deputy Minister of Culture of the Chechen Republic Rustam Milkiev, who is in the Republic on a working visit, visited the children's art school under construction in Tskhinval.
The Minister spoke about the progress of construction work and the completion date of construction.
"We are constantly monitoring the progress of construction work. The high pace of construction of the school is impressive. The work here is ongoing and does not stop even in bad weather and on weekends. The school staff, pupils and parents are very enthusiastic about the opening of the school. This will be a truly great event in the sphere of culture of South Ossetia," the Minister said.
She expressed her gratitude to the head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov for such an important gift for the culture of South Ossetia, having added that the completion of the construction of the art school is expected in August 2025.
"If the builders do not let us down, the opening of the facility will be timed to coincide with the important date for our Republic - the Day of Recognition of the State Independence of the Republic of South Ossetia by the Russian Federation," Rada Dzagoeva said.
The artistic director of the choreographic school-studio Kosta Dzhioty has noted that more than 150 children are currently studying at the school.
"At the moment, we are studying in the reading room of the Republican Library, which was temporarily converted into the rehearsal room, but the children are all waiting to move to a new school with all the necessary conditions for work. With the acquisition of our own building, we will significantly expand the number of study groups and the areas in which training will be conducted," he said.
Rustam Milkiev wished great success to the staff and students of the future art school.
"We are very happy for you, for the construction of a new facility, which will create all the conditions for teaching children and introducing them to art. We have similar cultural institutions in Chechnya that have good experience in this area and they will be happy to share their experience with the colleagues," Milkiev has emphasized.
It should be reminded that the construction of the art school is financed by the Akhmat-Khadzhi Kadyrov Regional Public Fund.
