Rector of the South Ossetian State University Vadim Tedeev took part in the school of preventive public diplomacy at the Eurasian Network University, organized by the Scientific and Educational Center "Globus-XXI Century" of the Faculty of Global Processes of the Lomonosov Moscow State University, the Public Diplomacy Foundation and the State University of Management.
The event is taking place from November 30 to December 13 in Moscow.
As part of the School, a discussion panel "Preventive Public Diplomacy in Ensuring Global and Eurasian Security" was held.
Opening the discussion panel, Vice-Rector of the State University of Management Dmitry Bryukhanov introduced the participants of the School - representatives of the university community from the EAEU countries - to the structure and principles of the Eurasian Network University, which has been operating on the university's platform for several years.
"The Eurasian Network University is a platform created to implement the ideas put forward by President of the Russian Federation Putin about the so-called fifth freedom, which should be the focus of attention of the economic space, namely freedom of knowledge. Today, the partnership of the Eurasian Network University has included 32 universities that represent five countries within the EAEU," he has noted.
Bryukhanov called the Lomonosov Moscow State University, in particular the Faculty of Global Processes, as one of the key partners of the Eurasian Network University. He thanked all the participants of the discussion for their active participation and wished them successful, productive work.
Rector of the South Ossetian State University Vadim Tedeev has noted in his speech that the world is on the verge of unleashing a nuclear war, which is provoked by the United States and its satellites. According to him, leaders of all countries are required to carefully weigh each step they take in the international arena, avoiding hasty decisions and taking into account the losses that each country can suffer by getting involved in any crisis or confrontation.
“In this most acute geopolitical situation, in which the world has found itself due to the fault of the West, the special military operation is the only force that contributes to geopolitical stability. Everyone understands that this is not a war between Russia and Ukraine, but a fight between Russia and the entire NATO bloc, when Ukraine has been chosen by the West as a springboard for attacking Russia, and the Ukrainian people have been sacrificed to this insatiable Western inhuman thirst for profit,” the rector has noted.
Tedeev believes that the task of all sensible people throughout the post-Soviet space is to make every effort to prevent conflicts similar to the Ukrainian conflict in other Eurasian regions.
“And such attempts are being actively conducted, and we all know this very well. In all former Soviet republics, many Western and Turkish non-governmental organizations are carrying out their subversive work. They are carrying out destructive activities aimed at destabilizing the population, spreading Russophobia everywhere, and grossly distorting historical facts,” he said.
According to the expert, South Ossetia is a loyal ally of Russia in the region and the most important guarantor of security in the Eurasian space. In the special military operation zone, the South Ossetian guys are fighting side by side with the Russian soldiers. In this regard, the expert called the position of the CSTO countries, which not only do not provide military assistance to Russia, but also fear sanctions from the United States, incomprehensible.
According to Tedeev, all Eurasian states need to closely monitor the activities of the non-governmental Western and Turkish organizations that are engaged in whipping up Russophobia, grossly distorting historical facts, and destabilizing the situation.
Tedeev also touched upon the important issue for every South Ossetian believer, namely the need to recognize the Alanian diocese by the Russian Orthodox Church.
Ilya Shershnev, President of the Public Diplomacy Foundation, Director of the Scientific and Educational Center "Globus-XXI Century" of the Faculty of Global Processes at the Moscow State University, has emphasized that the public role in preventive diplomacy should occupy a significant place.
The expert said that the Moscow State University had begun to develop this area in 2022, when they held the first school of preventive public diplomacy. It was timed to coincide with the thirtieth anniversary of the "Tashkent Treaty", as well as the opening of a new humanitarian dimension in the field of collective security - preventive public diplomacy.
The event was also attended by Igor Krugovykh, Deputy Director of the Scientific and Educational Center "Globus-XXI Century" of the Faculty of Global Processes at the Moscow State University, Sergei Baranov, member of the Izborsk Club, coordinator of the expert council of the All-Russian Public Movement "Russian Dream", Dmitry Soin, deputy of the Supreme Council of Pridnestrovie of the 5th convocation, rector of the International Law Institute (JUSTO), Alexander Berdnikov, Vice President of the Public Diplomacy Foundation, Chairman of the Commission on Public Security and Public Diplomacy of the Council for Nationalities under the Government of Moscow, Nina Dimoglo, TV presenter, journalist, public figure of the Republic of Moldova and others.
