The Geneva International Discussions, both by definition and in accordance with the fundamental documents, should be held in Geneva, the UN Co-Chair of the Geneva International Discussions Cihan Sultanoglu said.
A meeting of the OSCE, UN and EU co-chairs of the Geneva Discussions with the South Ossetian delegation was held in Tskhinval on Tuesday. The parties discussed preparations for the 63rd meeting.
“Despite the fact that some participants express a desire not to meet in Geneva, even they understand that consensus of all the participants is needed on this issue. We are meeting and will be meeting in Geneva, because there will be no consensus on this issue,” Sultanoglu has emphasized.
According to her, at the last round of discussions they were able to return to the premises where the meetings were previously held - this is the UN Palace of Nations.
"I think we will stay there," the UN co-chair has noted.
