South Ossetian President Alan Gagloev attended a ceremonial formation of the Special Purpose Police Detachment and congratulated the staff on the 22nd anniversary of the detachment's formation.
In his speech, Gagloev emphasized the complexity and responsibility of service in the internal affairs agencies.
"The work in law enforcement agencies has never been easy, but you always demonstrate a high level of training and readiness to perform the most important tasks. We wish you to always be a pillar of support for people. Know that we are always with you," Gagloev said.
Gagloev conferred special ranks on the Special Purpose Police Detachment officers and awarded them the "Defender of the Fatherland" medal.
Minister of Internal Affairs Alan Guchmazov also congratulated the staff of the Special Purpose Specialized Unit, thanking them for their dedication to the cause.
He also presented departmental awards and conferred special military ranks, emphasizing the importance of the work of each employee.
