President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev held a meeting with a participant of the special military operation Roland Doguzov, the press service of the head of state reports.
Roland Doguzov was one of the first from South Ossetia to volunteer to protect the residents of Donbass in 2014 and is still participating in the military operations.
The head of state thanked the fighter for his faithful service and glorification of the Ossetian people.
"Thanks to such brave soldiers as you, there is no person left who does not know about the valor and fighting spirit of the Ossetians. Our duty as the leadership of the country and representatives of one nation is to honor and preserve in memory your feat in the name of peace on earth," Alan Gagloev said.
For courage and bravery shown in the performance of military duty during the special military operation, the President awarded the soldier the "Defender of the Fatherland" medal.
