Russian compatriots of South Ossetia virtually handed over the "Victory Bouquet" of 73 carnations to the Russian compatriots in Algeria as part of the International Patriotic Action for the 80th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. This was reported to the "Res" news agency by Natalia Zhuykova, a member of the World Coordinating Council of South Ossetia.
According to her, the virtual "Victory Bouquet" was handed over to the Russian compatriots in South Ossetia by Turkey.
"The action united the participants from 80 countries. The main goal of the event is to virtually handing over a bouquet of 79 carnations to Russia, where it will be supplemented with the 80th carnation and laid at the Eternal Flame in Moscow.
Zhuykova has specified that the idea of holding the event belongs to the Commission on Youth Policy at the World Coordinating Council of Russian Compatriots.
“The participants of the event have become children of the organization of the Union of Russian Citizens, students of the Albion Gymnasium. The members of the KSORS, Anzhelika Bukovskaya, Nadezhda Rassokhina and Marta Kharebova, are responsible for organizing the event,” she has specified.
According to her, the ready-made carnations will be distributed along with the St. George’s ribbons on the day of the Great Victory – May 9 in South Ossetia.
Natalya Zhuikova expressed gratitude to the Russian House in Tskhinval for providing a venue for organizing the event.
The event in Tskhinval was organized by the Coordinating Council of the Organization of Russian Compatriots in South Ossetia together with the Union of Russian Citizens of the Republic of South Ossetia.
