South Ossetia is aimed to build the independent state and does not intend to change the vector of its development and the desire to comprehensively strengthening relations with the guarantor of its security - the Russian Federation. This statement was made by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, commenting on the recent speech of Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze.

In the interview with the Georgian television channel Imedi, Kobakhidze, commenting on the topic of relations with Abkhazia and South Ossetia in the context of restoring the territorial integrity of Georgia, said that this "is real if we show patience and use this patience to guide our policy."

The Foreign Ministry has emphasized that the theses and ideas expressed by the official Tbilisi regarding the possibilities of settling relations are unacceptable for South Ossetia.

"Tskhinval has repeatedly voiced its position, which is based on the choice of people of South Ossetia, enshrined in the country's Constitution. The lack of progress in the international discussions on the issue of security guarantees for South Ossetia and Abkhazia, coupled with such statements, do not contribute to stability in the region," the Foreign Ministry has noted.

The Ministry has added that speculation on the topic of restoring the so-called territorial integrity is growing in Georgia in the light of the opposition's ongoing protests since last autumn.
