South Ossetia will provide humanitarian aid to residents of Dagestan affected by severe flooding.

The Republic's Ministry of Emergency Situations is currently forming a convoy to send humanitarian aid to Makhachkala, the rescue agency's press service reports.

The Ministry has reported that, on the on the instruction of the South Ossetian President Alan Gagloev, the head of the Republic's Ministry of Emergency Situations, Ibrahim Gasseev, held telephone conversations with the head of Dagestan's Ministry of Emergency Situations, Nariman Kazimagamedov.

South Ossetian Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioev held meetings at the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on April 6-7, the press service of the RSO Foreign Ministry reports.

"Dzhioev held interdepartmental consultations with the leadership of the Latin American Department, the Second Department of the CIS Countries, and the Fourth Department of the CIS Countries of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in separate meetings," the press service stated.

South Ossetian President Alan Gagloev spoke by phone with Dagestan's leader, Sergey Melikov, on Monday morning.

He expressed words of support and sympathy to the republic's residents affected by the disaster, the President's press service reports.

"We are always there for our brothers and ready to provide the necessary assistance," the President said.

Sergey Melikov thanked him for the support, having noted that the Republic of Dagestan is currently coping on its own.

Тhe co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Commission (IGC) on Socio-economic Cooperation between South Ossetia and Russia signed a document defining the procedure for concessional financing of investment projects.

The signing took place at the AMEf-2026 platform in Sukhum, Apsnypress reports.

The program will be implemented within the framework of the State Program for Socio-economic Development of the Republic for 2026–2030.

President Alan Gagloev named integration and strengthening friendly relations with Russia among the unconditional priorities shared by South Ossetia and Abkhazia.

South Ossetia continues active efforts to strengthen and develop its border with Georgia, despite the lack of progress in the negotiation process on this issue. This was stated by Yegor Kochiev, head of the South Ossetian delegation, while summing up the results of the latest meeting of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM).

South Ossetia is preparing to participate in two major economic events—the Abkhaz Economic Forum and the Caucasus Investment Forum.

At the government staff meeting, Prime Minister Dzambolat Tadtaev instructed the responsible agencies to ensure comprehensive preparations for participation in the events, given the planned attendance of President Alan Gagloev.

"I ask you to prepare thoroughly, as the participation is planned at the head of state level. All activities must be worked out," the Prime Minister has emphasized.

President Alan Gagloev has met with Alan Kochiev and Soslan Tedeev, the service members who participated in the special military operation, the presidential press service reports.

During the conversation, the President thanked the service members for their courage and bravery during the combat missions.

The President noted their dedication and devotion to their homeland, emphasizing the importance of their contribution to the common cause.
