On March 19, 2026, the 66th round of the International Discussions on Security and Stability in Transcaucasia concluded at the UN Palais des Nations in Geneva. The discussions were held on the basis of the Medvedev-Sarkozy Plan of August 12 and the agreements on its implementation of September 8, 2008.

The South Ossetian and the Nicaraguan diplomats discussed strengthening bilateral relations during the online meeting.

Diplomats from the two countries discussed the development and strengthening of bilateral relations between South Ossetia and Nicaragua during the online meeting.

The meeting, whith participation of the South Ossetian Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioev and the Nicaraguan Co-Foreign Minister Valdrac Jentzke, was initiated by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia.

The Nicaraguan Foreign Minister Denis Moncada, who is currently in New York, and Nicaraguan Ambassador to Russia and South Ossetia Alba Torres Mejia also participated in the discussion.

South Ossetia's Ambassador to Russia, Znaur Gassiev, sent the appeal to the international community in connection with the 35th anniversary of the Ered tragedy.

According to the Embassy's press service, the documents were sent to the heads of all diplomatic missions accredited to the Russian Federation, as well as to the Georgian Interests Section at the Embassy of Switzerland.

The appeal highlights the tragedy as part of a long line of unpunished criminal acts and genocide against the Ossetian people committed by Georgia.

The Airborne Forces soldiers thanked the South Ossetian President Alan Gagloev for his support on the front lines.

Servicemen from the 33rd Airborne Forces Regiment have previously sent a video message to Alan Gagloev asking for assistance in resolving logistical issues on the front lines.

The head of state responded promptly: the necessary containers were purchased and delivered to the front lines as quickly as possible. They are currently being used to set up shelters.⁣⁣
