South Ossetia sees the opportunities to develop cooperation with Belarus in areas not directly related to politics, Acting South Ossetian Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioev has stated.

According to him, building and expanding such contacts requires consistent work, taking into account the position of official Minsk, which has not yet recognized South Ossetia's independence.

At the same time, Dzhioev noted the existence of shared values ​​and historical ties that could facilitate closer cooperation.

South Ossetia’s Ambassador to Russia, Znaur Gassiev, attended a formal reception marking the 68th anniversary of the Independence Day of the Republic of Guinea, the diplomatic mission's press service reports.

"The Ambassador thanked Allassor Sankon, Chargé d'Affaires of the Republic of Guinea in Russia, for the invitation and congratulated him on the anniversary of the sovereign state's proclamation, wishing the people of Guinea well-being and prosperity," the statement of the press service reads.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov congratulated the leadership of South Ossetia on the recent state holidays and the successful conduct of the presidential elections, emphasizing their full legitimacy. He made these remarks during the talks with the Republic's Acting Foreign Minister, Akhsar Dzhioev.

Marat Kambolov has officially assumed the office of President of South Ossetia. A ceremonial inauguration for the newly elected head of state is taking place in Tskhinval this Wednesday.

Kambolov took the oath of office on the Constitution. The text of the oath is prescribed by the Constitution of the Republic of South Ossetia.

The visit of the Nicaraguan delegation to South Ossetia marks another important step in strengthening friendly ties between the two republics, Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioev noted during a meeting with his Nicaraguan counterpart, Waldrak Ludwing Jaentschke Whitaker.

A meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and South Ossetian Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioev will take place on October 1, Marat Kulakhmetov, Russia's Ambassador to the Republic, told RIA Novosti.

"A meeting between the foreign ministers of the Russian Federation and South Ossetia will take place soon, on October 1," Kulakhmetov said.

According to him, constant interaction continues between Russia and South Ossetia. The parties coordinate their actions in international forums, and the Russian side also assists in promoting South Ossetia's interests.

South Ossetia’s Ambassador to Abkhazia, Astamur Katsiya, took part in a solemn flower-laying ceremony at the Memorial to the Defenders of the Fatherland in Sukhum’s Glory Park.

The event marked the 33rd anniversary of the liberation of the Abkhazian capital, the Foreign Ministry press service reported.

Russia’s Ministry of Energy is a key partner regarding gas and electricity supply, Marat Kambolov, the President-elect of South Ossetia, noted on his Telegram channel following a meeting with the head of the Russian ministry, Sergey Tsivilev.

"For many villages in the Republic, gasification remains one of the most pressing issues.

People have waited years for the opportunity to heat their homes and live in decent domestic conditions.

We have made significant progress in addressing this challenge," Kambolov said.

The South Ossetian Foreign Ministry has commented on the statements made by the foreign policy agencies of Georgia and the European Union, as well as a number of other countries, regarding the presidential election held in the Republic.

The Foreign Ministry has noted that such reactions from Tbilisi and Western partners have long since become routine.
