At the negotiations in Geneva, South Ossetia called on the Georgian side to assist the Republic in clarifying the fate of the South Ossetian citizens to be listed missing since 2008, said Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy of the RSO for post-conflict settlement Murat Dzhioev.

“The IPRM is obliged to consider and prevent situations in the regions adjacent to the border of South Ossetia with Georgia. We made this clear in Geneva. Issues that relate to the work of the Mechanism under the mandate should be put on the agenda of the meeting in this format,” the Plenipotentiary said.
Participants in the Geneva discussions could not advance on the issue of developing a legally binding document on the non-use of force against South Ossetia and Abkhazia, told reporters Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy of the Republic for post-conflict settlement Murat Dzhioev,
“Unfortunately, no new steps could be made in this direction. The Abkhaz colleagues proposed a new draft statement on the non-use of force, which is practically the same as the previous version. The Georgian party, in turn, again asked for time to study it,” said Dzhioev.
The South Ossetian delegation in Geneva focused on the threats coming from Georgia. As noted at a briefing in Tskhinval by the South Ossetian Presidential Envoy for post-conflict settlement Murat Dzhioev, the Geneva discussions on security in the Transcaucasus always take place in a difficult situation.
The head of the Lugansk People's Republic, Leonid Pasechnik, at the end of his official visit to South Ossetia, shared with journalists his plans for the implementation of joint agreements.
“We intend to implement joint efforts to integrate with the Russian Federation, to raise the standard of living of the people, that will be a strong support for further recognition,” said Pasechnik.
In his opinion, the conflict in the Donbas could have been completed earlier by joint efforts.
The delegation of the Lugansk People's Republic, headed by President Leonid Pasechnik, came South Ossetia on a three-day official visit. The head of the LPR was accompanied by his wife Natalia Pasechnik. All negotiations took place the day before, according to their results on Wednesday the heads of South Ossetia and the LPR signed a Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance. Also there was a meeting of representatives of the LPR with representatives of the Parliament of the Republic.
After the long break, a regular meeting in the format of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanisms (IPRM) took place on the border of South Ossetia and Georgia, during which the incidents taking place at the border and issues of concern were discussed.
After the meeting, the head of the South Ossetian delegation Egor Kochiev, told South Ossetian journalists about the topics discussed.
Kochiev has noted that the meeting in the format of IPRMR was held in a constructive manner.
There is a full understanding of the fact that South Ossetia and the Lugansk People’s Republic must move together, said South Ossetian President Anatoly Bibilov to journalists after the talks with the head of the LPR.
“We have identified the steps that will enable us to achieve the desired level in the relations between our state structures, in almost all areas,” said Bibilov.
