The recent events clearly indicate that the leadership of Georgia purposefully glows the situation in the Georgian-Ossetian conflict that is already extremely tensed.
The scenario of the activities was not changed: on the territories, mainly inhabited by Georgians and temporarily controlled by Tbilisi, the Georgian Special services carry out provocations, the victims of which become residents of South Ossetia of Georgian as well as Ossetian ethnicity. After that the Georgian military subdivisions that are illegally present in the conflict zone, block the roads that are under their control and the remote Ossetian villages.
At the same tine, the Georgian leadership, regularly and openly violating the agreements achieved in the framework of the negotiation process, traditionally puts the responsibility for the carried out provocations by their own Special services either on the Ossetian side on the Russian peacekeepers, accusing them in non-compliance with their mandate in the conflict zone. While the official Tbilisi continues to appeal to the International Community and assures in peacefulness, efforts directed at destruction of the negotiation process, unilateral withdrawal from the signed agreements and withdrawal of the peacekeeping forces from the Georgian-Ossetian conflict zone are being activated.
Ministry of the Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia makes a protest against the activities of the Georgian leadership, deliberately aimed at destabilization of the situation in the Georgian-Ossetian conflict and again reminds that the Russian peacekeepers that stopped the bloodshed in 1992 are currently the main guarantor of stability in the region. Any changes in the existing format of the peacekeeping operation will bring the Georgian-Ossetian conflict to an armed confrontation.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia again calls on the Georgian side to refrain from the policy of provocations and continue the dialogue in the existing effective format.
