The Georgian side again violated the provisions “On main principles of military contingents’ activities…” and without prior agreement with the JCC carried out rotation of the JPKF peacekeeping battalion from Georgia. This information was given by the acting First Deputy Chairman of the Government, JCC Co-Chairman from the South Ossetian side Boris Chochiev. As noted by Boris Chochiev, the agreement on rotation of battalions states that rotation is done once in six months, the Georgian side from January 2006 up to now had 5 rotations instead of two.
South Ossetian side of the JCC declares that the next planned rotation will be illegal, in view of this it is demanded from the Joint JPKF headquarters to take all necessary steps to prevent illegal rotation of the Georgian battalion.
“We are sure that our JCC colleagues, including the OSCE Mission to Georgia, will support us and will make an official statement to stop the illegal activities of the Georgian side”.
