The president of South Ossetia Eduard Kokoity held a meeting focused on promotion of further recognition of South Ossetia's independence by CIS and other countries. The South Ossetian Parliament Speaker Stanislav Kochiev, Head of President's Administration Arsen Gagloev, Foreign Minister Murat Djioev, Deputy Parliament Speaker Yuriy Dzidtsoity, leaders of political parties "Yedinstvo" (Unity), "Fydybasta" (Motherland), "Rastag Ir" (Just Ossetia) and People's Party attended the discussion. South Ossetian Foreign Minister Murat Djioev brief the participants on the efforts taken by the MFA to promote further recognition of South Ossetia by international community.
The president emphasized the importance of the discussed issue: "This question is related to the prestige of our state. Here we need consolidation of all our forces, including those of the political parties. All our efforts should be consolidated and the most important is that they should be effective. I do rely on the support to be provided by the Parliament, political parties and public organizations to the Ministry for Foreign Affairs", he underlined. According to president, the primary goal for South Ossetia is to prove to the international community that the actions of the Russian Federation, as well as other states, which recognized the independence and state sovereignty of the Republic of South Ossetia, were absolutely correct and just. "It all depends on to what extent were have succeeded in building our state and strengthening of democracy and civil society. We should prove that we have created a solid state, unlike those, which have their flags exposed in front of the UN HQ building", said Eduard Kokoity.
South Ossetian president also shared his impressions from the joint training Russian-South Ossetian border-guard and South Ossetian Defense Ministry and the 4th Military Base of the RF, which focused on joint border-protection actions and which took place on the territory of South Ossetia. The training was devoted to the first anniversary of deployment of the RF border-guards on the territory of South Ossetia.
"I would assess the today's training as highly professional. I would not recommend anyone to encounter the military detachments in charge of the South Ossetian borderline protection", stated Eduard Kokoity.
