The Committee on National Policy, Culture, Education, Sience, Religion and the Media of the Parliament of South Ossetia plans to bring up for discussion by MPs the the draft laws on the state language and Ossetian family names, Mira Tskhovrebova, the Committee Chairman, Vice-Speaker of the Parliament, told IA "Res".
"We have already suggested the draft laws on language and family names for a public debate and have held parliamentary hearings. Now the projects will be considered by members of the presidium of the Parliament, and later in the session. Each participant to the discussion may make comments, and if we believe these comments reasonable and necessary, then the laws will be amended ", said Tskhovrebova.
She also reported that the Committee was working on laws on geographical places, on culture, and co-authoring. .
"I think these are fundamental laws of our state. They are all related to the development of cultural and spiritual environment of our state, ", said the Vice-Speaker.
According to her, every law imposes certain obligations on citizens.
"We hope that the observance of these commitments will be reflected even in the public consciousness, our lives, will have an effect on society, the functioning of the state, and the the forms of its functioning. The purpose of these laws is to promote the formation of our nation as a community, the formation of such an ideology, which would allow us to become an integral community, "- concluded Tskhovrebova.
