The processes related to reconstruction works in South Ossetia, are absolutely opened and transparent. It has been declared today by the President of the Republic of South Ossetia Eduard Kokoity at the briefing in South Ossetia. «The Russian structures can completely supervise allocation of funds and their target use on the territory of South Ossetia, - has declared Kokoity. - We, for our part, are absolutely opened in this respect and ready for further cooperation». According to Kokoity, the leadership of South Ossetia has been doing everything for its inhabitants to live in normal, good conditions.
As the President has noted, today the large-scale construction works connected with the replacement of underground communications are being carried out in the Republic. «Since 1957 the city communications have not been replaced. And now they are being changed simultaneously and in a complex way; as a matter of fact, it is a unique process», - the President has underlined. He has also emphasized that a number of different constructive projects, including, the housing ones, are being built in South Ossetia. «In the Republic practically more than seventy percent of the private and municipal housing have been demolished during the war in August, 2008», - the President has told, having added that the last 18 years Georgian aggression also left its mark on this process. The head of the state has noticed that today the housing having an area of 125 square metres for the victims is under construction in South Ossetia. «Each citizen can choose his own project among the 12 confirmed ones», - Kokoity has said. The President has also drawn parallels between the constructive units built in South Ossetia by the Russian Federation and those ones which in due time were built by the UNHCR. According to the head of the state, it is important that Russia is constructing two-storeyed cottages, while the houses constructed in the Republic under the aegis of the United Nations, are called «hen houses" in South Ossetia.
