The USA is trying to convince the world community that Russia was the initiator of the war in August, 2008 in South Ossetia. It has been declared the news agency "Res" by the Plenipotentiary of the RSO President Boris Chochiev, making comments on the resolution of the USA senate, which contains the appeal to Russia for stopping "occupation" of Georgia. As he said, adopting the similar decisions, the USA reminds of «a drowning man, who will catch at a straw». Chochiev regretfully has stated a fact that South Ossetia did not expect the other decision of the USA senate. «Whether they could make the other decision? Though the whole world has learnt, that exactly Georgia attacked South Ossetia, and Russia came to the rescue and prevented the USA and other countries which had armed Saakashvili regime and had given their blessing to aggression against South Ossetia», - Chochiev has emphasized.
He has underlined that South Ossetia and Abkhazia cannot be called as the occupied territories. «But for Russia, today there would not be such independent states (South Ossetia and Abkhazia) on the world map, and they would disappear at all. It was the program, and we know, where it had been preparing. It had to be realized through the deranged person - Saakashvili. The most important thing is – that everybody knows who is an aggressor and who the invader is. Everybody knows that Russia has saved the lives of the people of South Ossetia and Abkhazia. I has told many times and I will repeat once again – it`s time for the USA to leave the double standards policy. The earlier they admit the aggression fact, the better», - the Plenipotentiary has declared. Chochiev has assumed that the similar policy will proceed. «But sooner or later this soap bubble will burst. As the head of delegation of South Ossetia on the Geneva discussions I ask a question to all the senators: what would be, but for Russia in August, 2008? What, in their opinion, is better - to exterminate the whole nations or to realize their dirty policy?», - Boris Chochiev has concluded. It should be noticed that on July, 29 the Senate of the USA congress adopted the resolution in which it had underlined the territorial integrity and independence of Georgia and had accused Russia of its infringement. According to the resolution Abkhazia and South Ossetia are the regions of Georgia occupied by the Russian Federation. The resolution urges the government of Russia to take steps, meeting the terms of agreement on armistice in 2008 between Georgia and Russia, including, - to return the troops to their pre-military positions and to provide access of the humanitarian help to everyone who has suffered in the course of the conflict. The senators have also urged Russia to give the chance to all displaced persons and international missions to return to South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
