The situation on the frontier of South Ossetia and Georgia is stable and predictable. It has been reported to the news agency "Res" at the Boundary management of the FSS of Russia in South Ossetia. «Incidents occurring periodically, are basically, connected with crossing of the state border of South Ossetia by the Georgian shepherds together with their herds. Despite the agreement within the frames of the Mechanisms on prevention and reaction to incidents (МPRI), such facts take place all the same and that is the proof of negligent work of the Georgian law-enforcement bodies on prevention of such incidents», - has been noted at the press-service. According to their information within the last two months, the Russian frontier guards have detained 19 frontier violators, 13 of them are the citizens of Georgia, four –the South-Ossetian citizens and two of them are the citizens of Great Britain. «As a rule, the violators are usually transferred to the KGB of the RSO Frontier service.
After the relevant law procedures, they are expelled to the territory of Georgia», - the employee of the Frontier management press-service has noted. As he has said, for decreasing the quantity of the frontier incidents, the Frontier management keeps in touch with the Georgian law-enforcement bodies and also with the European Union Mission of observers in Georgia on a «hot line». «Quadrilateral meetings are conducted within the framework of МPRI. The Mission exchanges wishes, first of all, with the South-Ossetian party as it is responsible for the frontier protection - we only help the Republic according to the available interstate agreement», - the employee of the press-service has noted. At the same time he has pointed out the vigorous activity on supervision (including a video shooting), of the territory of South Ossetia carried out by the Mission of observers, motivating that it is provided by their mandate. As an example of interaction with the Georgian side the Border management mentioned about the detention (together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and KGB of the RSO Frontier service) on June, 22 of two Georgian citizens who had committed crimes in the Georgian territory. «After the detention these citizens have been transferred to the Georgian party. The assistant of the regional police department of Georgia Shalva Tramakidze has drawn up a report and signed for receiving the frontier violators from South Ossetia to Georgia. His signature has actually admitted the fact of the border crossing. According to the international law the extradition of these criminals to the territory of Georgia has been actually carried out», - has been underlined at the press-service of the Russian frontier guards. What about service conditions, it has been noticed at the Frontier management that the military camps with fine conditions of life are under construction for the Russian frontier guards and they can focus on the border protection. «It has been already handed over five frontier posts, commissioning of three more is expected in the near future. There, where the frontier posts are not constructed yet, the border guards are serving in the field conditions so far, but they can see that everything is being done for their arrangement and they are serving with hope for the best», - the employee of the press-service has noted. In total, as he has said, it is planned to construct 19 military camps and the Frontier management complex in Tskhinval.
