A Round table on the subject «South Ossetia: before and after the recognition» has been held today in Tskhinval. The Minister for Foreign Affairs of the RSO Murat Dzhioev, the State Adviser to the President of the RSO Kosta Dzugaev, the Vice-Speaker of the Parliament of the RSO Yury Dzitstsoity, representatives of the public have taken part in work of the Round table. The issues of political and national priorities of the RSO, a role of Russia, South Ossetia and Georgia in geopolitical processes of the nineties have been placed on the agenda. Participants of the Round table have not ignored a subject of recognition of independence of South Ossetia in August, 2008, as a new stage of political history and new political challenges arising in this connection. «In the nineties all the best in our society, was mobilized and played the positive onward role which led to what we had always been dreaming about- the recognition of South Ossetia by the Russian Federation», - the President of the Media Centre Irina Gagloeva has said at the beginning of her speech. The State Adviser to the President of the RSO Kosta Dzugaev has noted that long after the Republic declaration, South Ossetia is the recognized state. «It`s enough if one state declares recognition of independence of the Republic, and from the juridical international legal standpoint it becomes the recognized state. In this case we mean such mighty state as Russia, -and, certainly we are happy that this country has recognized us», - Dzugaev has underlined. As he has said, the majority of people in South Ossetia are psychologically ready to be a part of Russia. «Disintegration of our nation should be overcome, we should pursue the policy of reunion of our people», - Dzugaev has expressed his opinion. As Dzugaev`s opponent in the question of joining South Ossetia in Russia the Vice-Speaker of the Parliament of the RSO Yury Dzitstsoity has emphasized: «We are ready to be a part of the Union State of Russia and Belarus. If we are a part of the Union State of Russia and Belarus we`ll get double protection. We will be in orbit of the Russian statehood, but thus we will keep all our state structures». In turn, a young sociologist Oksana Tedeeva has expressed her thought that people of South Ossetia did not fully appreciated the recognition of independence of South Ossetia. «It is known that when a dream comes true, usually euphoria set in, and after the euphoria – emptiness. We should escape this lot, we should prove not only to the world community but also to ourselves that we are worthy of the independence and we are independent in full sense of this word», - Tedeeva has concluded. Participants of the Round table expressed different opinions. In conclusion it has been observed that the processes occurring in the Republic of South Ossetia, are developing, and that we need an active position on overcoming the political challenges connected with recognition of our independence.
