Statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia
July 6, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia David Sanakoev paid a working visit to the Republic of Abkhazia, during which he met with Foreign Minister Vyacheslav Chirikba.
In a friendly and constructive atmosphere they discussed the main directions and prospects of bilateral cooperation between the two states. During the meeting the ministers condemned the UN General Assembly resolution "Situation of the Internally Displaced Persons and Refugees from Abkhazia, Georgia and the Tskhinval region / South Ossetia, Georgia," adopted on July 3, 2012, because the resolution had been considered without participation of representatives of South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
During the meeting the sides have also noted the importance of development and signing of the plan of consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia and Abkhazia in 2013-2014 years.
D. Sanakoev and V. Chirikba expressed their mutual intention to continue a substantial political dialogue, strengthening the partnership between the Republic of South Ossetia and the Republic of Abkhazia and more profound cooperation between the diplomatic departments of the two countries.
During the visit D. Sanakoev has also visited the children from the Republic of South Ossetia, which are spending their summer holidays in the camp.
