Co-Chairs of the Geneva Discussions met with the authorities of South Ossetia

In Tskhinval is being held a meeting of co-chairs of the Geneva discussions on security in Transcaucasia, representing the OSCE, the EU and the UN, with members of the South Ossetian delegation at the discussions led by the RSO Presidential Envoy for post-conflict settlement Murat Dzhioev.

Opening the meeting, Dzhioev wished the guests a happy New Year and expressed the hope that 2013 would be more productive and successful.
"South Ossetia attaches great importance to the Geneva talks. We hope that its productive activity and the main result, we expect - the signing of a legally binding agreement on non-use of force – will ensure peace and stability in the Caucasus ", - stressed the envoy.
Dzhioev also welcomed Andrew Deshitsa- a new co-chair of the Geneva discussions from the OSCE.
The EU representative at the Geneva discussions Filipp Lefourt has assured that everything will be done to strengthen and develop the format in all directions.
"We are also ready to discuss issues concerning not only the agenda for the next round of negotiations, but also any others", - he said.
In turn, Andrew Deshitsa also expressed hope for fruitful cooperation and progress of the Geneva discussions.
Then the meeting continued behind closed doors.
