Ministry of Emergency Situations of South Ossetia almost every month has been carrying out the demining activities in the Republic. This was declared by Minister of Emergency Situations Anatoly Bibilov at the photo exhibition dedicated to theDay of Mine Safety Education and Assistance in Demining activities, held today in Tskhinval.

"The attitude to this Day is special, because it is connected with millions of maimed lives all over the world, depicted on the photos. The events of the last 20 years echo to this day in South Ossetia ", - said Bibilov.
He has noted that the Ministry of Emergency Situations in cooperation with the law enforcement agencies and public organizations often face the mine issue.
"In addition, I `d like to note that at almost every meeting the head of state has been speaking of the importance of mine safety and appeals to the heads of the law enforcement agencies to pay special attention to this issue," - said the minister.
Bibilov has stressed that for today the territory where there is a real danger of being blown up, is mainly on the height of "Spider."
"The problem of great importance is the minefieldsfurther west than the village of Kekhvi in Tskhinval district. We need the maps of these minefields - said Bibilov. –Through the MPRI format we have repeatedly appealed to the Georgian side to provide us with these maps of minefields, to be able to carry out the demining of these areas. "
According to the minister, the Georgian responded, they did not know who had laid the mines.
