The government of South Ossetia has approved a draft law on putting into circulation commemorative and investment coins made of precious metals in the territory of the Republic. This decision was taken at a meeting of the Government of the Republic, held today under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Rostislav Khugaev.
As noted by the Finance Minister Aza Khabalova, the National Bank of South Ossetia is planning to issue commemorative coins in connection with the celebration of this year's fifth anniversary of Russia's recognition of independence of South Ossetia.

"Besides the fact that we authorize the National Bank to issue commemorative investment coins, it is necessary to legitimize their circulation in the territory of the Republic" - explained Khabalova.
In turn, the head of the National Bank of South Ossetia Felix Zasseev has noted it is planned to issue 350 gold and 650 silver coins. The cost of the gold coin will be 35 thousand rubles, the silver one - 3000 rubles.
