Ossetian professional boxer, the IBF European champion, the WBC Youth World champion Murat Gassiev (Iron) will hold today a fight with a French boxer Engin Karakaplan "Engo" for the title of the IBF Intercontinental champion.
The 12-round bout will take place in the framework of the boxing evening, which will be held in Vladikavkaz in sports palace "Manezh". As reported to IA "Res" by the coach of the athlete Vitaly Slanov "Murat is ready to fight; he's in good physical shape. Murat has been recently training in California (USA) in the alpine training camp «Big bear» under the direction of the renowned trainer Abel Sanchez".
Gassiev`s rival Engin Karakaplan, according to the coach, is a strong and competent boxer, with a serious service record.
"In case of victory, Murat will have good prospects," - said Slanov.
Before the main battle in the framework of the boxing evening will be held six more fights. Among the participants in these two battles are also two South Ossetian athletes- professional boxer Soslan Tedeev and amateur boxer Richard Bitiev.
The mentor and coach of three South Ossetian fighters is the honored coach of South Ossetia and the Russian Federation Vitaly Slanov. The athletes are also trained by a master of sport Alik Tadeev.
Murat Gassiev (21) won all 18 professional boxing fights. Gassiev`s rival - 27-year-old Engin Karakaplan from Turkey - had 17 professional boxing fights. 12 fights he won and four defeated, two games ended in a draw. The organizers of the boxing evening are the Ministry of North Ossetia-Alania for Youth Affairs, Physical Culture and Sports, Boxing Federation of North Ossetia-Alania, the promotion company Ural Boxing Promotion.
