Mourning rally dedicated to the victims of the 1992 Zar tragedy was held in South Ossetia.
Representatives of the leadership of South Ossetia led by President Anatoly Bibilov, members of the North Ossetian delegation led by the Minister of North Ossetia-Alania on the issues of national relations Aslan Tsutsiev, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to South Ossetia came to commemorate the victims of the tragedy to the obelisk "The Sorrowful Mother" on the Zar road. Yuri Gabaraev, Chairman of the parliamentary committee for national policy, culture, education, science, religion and the media, has said that 26 years have passed since the Zar tragedy, but the pain does not heal in the hearts of the residents of the Republic to this day.
"So far, no one has apologized to our people for the atrocities that the Georgian aggressors had committed," Gabaraev said. "
Anatoly Bibilov has noted that what happened on May 20, 1992 is a tragedy for all mankind.
"Every nation has its own tragedies, but when die innocent people, children, women, old people it is doubly harder," the president said. - 26 years have passed since this bloody date, and our southern neighbors, who on the European platforms talk about how they love us and want to live in peace with the Ossetians, have never even apologized, expressed condolences to the relatives of the deceased, to the people of South Ossetia. "
According to Bibilov, the brutal crime committed by the Georgian aggressors on the Zar road is a slap in the face of mankind.
"Ossetia has always been famous for its heroes, scientists, artists, sportsmen, we have always shown and show the world how peaceful we are and want to live in good-neighborliness with everyone," Bibilov said. "And I call on the representatives of the Georgian authorities, to show political strength, wisdom and courage and apologize to the relatives of the deceased, the people of South Ossetia for the atrocities that the Georgian military and politicians have committed. And we will be ready to talk with them. "
Aslan Tsutsiev, in his turn, expressed his words of support for the people and leadership of South Ossetia on behalf of the head of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, the government and residents of North Ossetia in a tragic date for the Republic.
"We are always with you, in grief, and in joy," Tsutsiev emphasized. - Our ancestors taught us to support each other, this we will teach our children. And today, remembering the terrible tragedy, we call on the younger generation to remember the sacrifices that the Ossetian people suffered on the road to freedom. "
At the end of the mourning rally, a poem was read out about the youngest victim of the Zar Tragedy, the seven-year-old Batrajz Kabisov, who on May 20, 1992, managed to jump off a car that was shot by Georgian bandit formations. The boy left his uncle bleeding, a courageous heart prompted him to run after the followed cars, but he managed to shout only: "Do not go here, they are shooting us!". The little hero was shot in the back. On that day, the Georgian fascists shot 36 innocent unarmed people on the Zar road.
