South Ossetia is demonstrating in the international arena readiness for full-scale security work in the region, which is the main goal of the Geneva discussions, said Foreign Minister of South Ossetia Dmitry Medoev.
“Our position from the first round remains unchanged - the Geneva discussions should help developing such security conditions in order to reduce to an impossible repetition of the recurrence of aggression by Georgia against South Ossetia and Abkhazia. The main task of the discussions remains the development of a document on the non-use of force,” said the Foreign Minister at a press conference following the results of the year.
He has noted with regret that this position does not find a proper understanding from the Georgian side in Geneva.
Medoev has also stressed, that in Geneva we are witnessing attempts to shift the emphasis in the topics under discussion, politicizing the questions, defiantly ignoring the position of South Ossetia.
He has noted that today it is the only platform where South Ossetia can defend its position.
