The South Ossetian party once again raised at the meeting in the framework of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanisms (IPRM) the issue of NATO exercises in Georgia. This was reported to journalists by the head of the South Ossetian delegation in the format of the IPRM, Yegor Kochiev.
"At the last meeting, we raised the issue of NATO exercises held in Georgia, and then the Georgian party informed the IPRM participants that international command and staff exercises with the participation of NATO member countries and Georgian armed forces will be held in March in Georgia," Kochiev said.
According to him, South Ossetian participants in the meeting learned from the media that offensive operations would be practiced at the exercises.
"We have expressed concern, stating that in the event of any provocative actions, South Ossetia will turn to its powerful ally, and we will defend our territories," said the head of the delegation.
Also, the Georgian party again put on the agenda issues that are not included in the mandate of the IPRM format.
“Each time the South Ossetian side protests against this fact. These are political speculations and are being done on purpose. The Georgian side just wants to tick off,” Kochiev stressed.
The next meeting in the format of IORI will be held on May 16.
