Murat Gassiev was awarded the "Star of Boxing" award for the fight with Cuban Junier Dorticos. The award ceremony took place on Monday within the framework of the International Boxing Day on Red Square in Moscow, reports TASS.
“I want to congratulate everyone on the International Boxing Day. This is a young holiday. But knowing that there are many people of different generations and different nationalities here, I can say with confidence that boxing unites,” said Alexei Rubezhnoy, Chairman of the supervisory board of the Russian Boxing Federation.
It should be reminded, Gassiev knocked out Dorticos in February last year in the semifinals of the World Boxing Super Series (WBSS). In the final of the tournament, the Russian lost to Ukrainian Alexander Usik.
