A memorandum of cooperation between the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Abkhazia and the Supreme Court of the Republic of South Ossetia was signed at the South Ossetian State University. The document was signed by Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of South Ossetia Vitaly Dzhioev and Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Abkhazia Diana Pilia.

The memorandum defines key areas of cooperation: creating a sustainable legal and scientific basis for cooperation, exchanging best practices in the field of constitutional justice, conducting joint scientific research, implementing programs and projects, and exchanging theoretical knowledge. It also provides for measures to improve the legal competence and qualifications of court staff and deepen mutual understanding between the parties.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged gifts. Vitaly Dzhioev presented the Abkhaz delegation with silver medals issued by the National Bank of South Ossetia. In turn, Diana Pilia handed over to the Supreme Court the academic publications of the Constitutional Court of Abkhazia — the court's bulletin and the illustrated publication "The Constitution through the Eyes of Children", prepared jointly with the educational institutions: the children depicted articles of the Constitution, and the artists designed them for printing.

The Abkhaz delegation has included Fatima Kamkia, Director of the Institute of Economics and Law of the Academy of Sciences of Abkhazia.

The meeting was also attended by Alan Elbakiev, Ambassador of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Republic of South Ossetia.
