Boxer Murat Gassiev defeated American heavyweight Jeremy Milton, known for his size (height 193 cm, arm span 203 cm). The fight as part of the evening of professional boxing took place at the Miccosukee Indian Gaming Resort in Miami (USA).
Gassiev performed a technical knockout. His opponent refused to continue the fight after the sixth round. Milton's doctor did not allow him to enter the ring.
Initially, Gassiev's opponent was supposed to be Pole Andrzej Wawrzyk, who had previously entered the ring against Alexander Povetkin. However, due to injury, he dropped out of the fight, and Milton took his place.
Gassiev is a former IBF and WBA cruiserweight champion who unified the titles after defeating Denis Lebedev and Yuniel Dorticos, but lost them in the WBSS final to Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk in 2018.
Since 2020, Gassiev has been competing in the heavyweight division, where he has won victories over Nuri Seferi, Michael Wallisch, Carlos Welch, Mike Baloghan and Kim Ljungqvist, but was defeated by Otto Wallin. In the United States, he re-entered the ring for the first time since 2017, having registered his 32nd victory (25th by knockout) in his professional career.
