President Anatoly Bibilov met with representative of South Ossetia in the Transnistrian Moldavian Republic, Vitaly Yankovsky, and the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia in the Benelux countries, Radion Pukhaev, the presidential press service said.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia Dmitry Medoev also took part in the meeting.
The head of state has expressed his gratitude for the work that the representatives of South Ossetia are doing in the Transnistrian Moldavian Republic and in Europe.
“Of course, we are closely following the events that take place in the PMR, we welcome the meetings held by Vadim Nikolayevich Krasnoselsky in order to ensure security in our fraternal republic and, accordingly, do everything to develop a socio-economic orientation. All this contributes to the welfare of the PMR. I want you to convey to Vadim Nikolaevich my best wishes and assurances that the course of South Ossetia towards the PMR does not change. We consider the Transdniestrian Moldavian Republic a fraternal state. Accordingly, we consider the people of Transnistria to be fraternal people,” Anatoly Bibilov addressed Vitaly Yankovsky.
Addressing Radion Pukhaev, the President noted the effectiveness of his work in holding the Days of Ossetian culture in Europe.
“Radion Asanovich, regarding your work, I want to personally express my gratitude for those cultural events that allow Europe, the European people to learn more about South Ossetia. This work must be continued. It is necessary to familiarize the general public not only with our culture, but also with the political processes that take place here, to talk about the truly peaceful direction of our development and our principled approach, which is to establish relations with all our European colleagues,” said Anatoly Bibilov.
For his part, Radion Pukhaev spoke about plans to widely celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Days of Ossetian culture.
“Since next year will be 10 years since we have been holding the Days of Ossetian culture in Europe, we have made certain plans. I want to try to innovate: to follow in the footsteps of the Alans in Europe and where there were Alan settlements, organize exhibitions and try to establish relationships,” he said.
The head of state noted the importance of this project.
“This is very important, in Europe there are states where today our brothers live, who consider themselves Alans. Not like some other nations, namely those whose Alan affiliation has been proven by historians. We have an understanding that we are a single whole of a once large nation that has left a serious mark on the history of Europe. These ties we must develop and show our common culture and history. In this direction, we are ready to support all your proposals,” concluded Anatoly Bibilov.
