The international forum of volunteers was held in the capital of the volunteer movement - the city of Sochi from December 2 to 5. The forum brought together more than 7 thousand guys from Russia and foreign countries who came to exchange experiences and discuss the development of volunteer initiatives. One of the key topics of the event- the participation of volunteers in the implementation of national projects, the Committee on Youth Policy, Sports and Tourism of the Republic reports.
The event was timed to coincide with National and International Volunteer Day - December 5th.
“The Forum participants were expected to have a rich program: on December 2-3, the guys visited social institutions, charitable foundations, got acquainted with the peculiarities of the development of various types of volunteer activities. On December 3-5, a business program awaited the volunteers: discussions and master classes with the participation of leading experts in the field of volunteering, specialized sections on identifying key problems in society and possible volunteer assistance for their solution, sessions on networking and international cooperation, an exhibition of public associations and social initiatives, "the Committee notes.
A panel discussion entitled “Volunteers of large-scale sports and other events: new opportunities” was held, designed to combine the already experienced Russian volunteers of the 2018 FIFA World Cup with those who have yet to hold the World Cup.
The participants shared their experiences and discussed further cooperation in the preparation and holding of the 2020 World Cup, which will be held in Qatar.
Within the framework of the Forum, the awarding ceremony of the All-Russian contest “Volunteer of Russia - 2019” was also held. Volunteer organizations saved more than 18 thousand people in 2019. Over 15 million residents of Russia during the year took part in carrying out voluntary actions and projects.
The events ended with a concert program for Volunteer Day.
The Forum was organized by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh), the Federal State Budget Institution Rospatriotcentr, and the Association of Volunteer Centers.
