President Anatoly Bibilov took part in the reporting meeting of the FSB Border Guard Service of Russia in South Ossetia, the press service of the head of state reports.
Addressing the Russian border guards, Anatoly Bibilov noted the effectiveness of their work.
"You are guarding the border of South Ossetia, protecting it effectively, despite the provocations that we periodically see from Georgia. You are honorably and with dignity implementing the tasks set for you by the leadership, and implementing the regulations adopted by the leadership of the Republic of South Ossetia, " the President said.
Among the threats that exist in the region, Anatoly Bibilov called the situation around Iran and Georgia’s involvement in politics with respect to this country.
The President has expressed confidence that the experience and professionalism of Russian and South Ossetian border guards will be opposed to emerging threats.
Anatoly Bibilov said that the internal policy of South Ossetia also concerned employees of the FSB Border Directorate of Russia.
“I would like you to understand the policy of the leadership of South Ossetia, in particular, in Leningor district, where there are attempts from outside to create tension. You communicate directly, know every person in the border zone. And it is important that you can rely on the position of the leadership of the Republic in this matter,” the President addressed the Border Administration.
He has stressed that this position is in the general rules for all residents, regardless of their place of residence or their nationality.
“And if we have problems in Znaur district, then these problems concern all the districts. It cannot be that there were problems in one part of the state, and the other part took a neutral position. And if we defend the interests of South Ossetia, combat provocations and challenges, then we need to do this together with everyone who considers himself a citizen of the Republic of South Ossetia. Therefore, the border in Razdaekhaen will be closed until the illegal post in the area of the village of Vista is removed,” concluded Anatoly Bibilov.
He noted that "here, in South Ossetia, we protect not only the borders of South Ossetia, but also the Russian Federation."
The President thanked the border guards for their service and awarded a particularly distinguished employee of the Border Department of the FSB of Russia in the Republic of South Ossetia with the Medal " on guard of peace in South Ossetia».
