The first meeting of the Expert Council under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia, created on April 9, 2020, was held on Friday under the chairmanship of Foreign Minister Dmitry Medoev, according to the official website of the department.
During the meeting, topical issues on the agenda were discussed, as well as a long-term work plan within the framework of the Expert Council was considered. Participants praised the creation of the Expert Council under the Ministry as a platform for discussion and exchange of views on foreign policy and international issues, as well as establishing links and coordinating work with the international expert community on a regular basis.
The purpose of the Expert Council is to assist in the development and implementation of state policy in the field of foreign policy activities of the Republic of South Ossetia.
Among the main tasks and activities of the Expert Council are conducting research, including the scientific study of regional and international problems, developing expert opinions on foreign policy issues, organizing and participating in scientific conferences, symposia, seminars, including international ones.
The Council intends to develop informational cooperation with international organizations, foreign scientists and specialists. Political scientists, experts will be involved in the work, including foreign analysts, the development of which may be useful for the Ministry in the implementation of foreign policy tasks.
