A meeting under the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) is taking place on the South Ossetian-Georgian border. According to the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy of South Ossetia for post-conflict settlement Murat Dzhioev, this is the first meeting in 2021.

“Due to the coronavirus pandemic, last year, only two face-to-face meetings were held, although the hotline is constantly communicating. Representatives of the OSCE and the EU assured us that they would take all necessary measures to ensure security from the coronavirus,” the Plenipotentiary said.

Dzhioev has stressed that the meeting will raise issues of security at the border, illegal post in the Tsnelis area and other situations that periodically appear in the area of the state border.
