Chairman of the Parliament of South Ossetia Alan Tadtaev during his trip to the SAR met with the Chairman of the People's Assembly of the Syrian Arab Republic Hammud Sabbah. According to the press service of the legislative body of the RSO, at the meeting they discussed issues of strengthening inter-parliamentary relations between the two republics in the interests of the two friendly peoples.
"During the meeting, Hammud Sabbah has noted that it is necessary to establish close inter-parliamentary relations between Syria and South Ossetia, as well as learn from each other's experience in matters of lawmaking. He also thanked the South Ossetian delegation for accepting the invitation to participate in the presidential elections in Syria as international observers, "the press service said.
For his part, the head of the South Ossetian delegation, Alan Tadtaev, expressed gratitude to the Syrian side for the invitation.
“These elections are of great importance for stabilizing the situation in Syria and for its future. Our Republic is with you, and we will continue to develop friendly relations between our countries. Syria is the cradle of civilization for the whole world, and I am sure that the country will be developing further and return to its former greatness. Thanks to these elections, the Syrian people will determine their future, so that the Republic achieves further victories and achievements to preserve the unity and independence of their country, Tadtayev said.
The meeting was also attended by members of the Bureau of the People's Assembly, the Bureau of the Parliamentary Friendship Commission of Syria and South Ossetia, as well as representatives of the South Ossetian delegation.
It should be noted that the South Ossetian delegation has included Deputy Chairman of the RSO Parliament Vladimir Kelekhsaev, Head of the South Ossetian Presidential Executive Office Igor Kozaev, State Advisor to the RSO President Uruzmag Dzhagaev, Chief of Protocol of the RSO Presidential Executive Office Tadioz Kochiev and Head of the Translation Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sergey Tadtaev.
