Ministry of Defense of South Ossetia will hold qualifying competitions for participation in the competitions of the International Army Games - 2021 in June-July, the press service of the Defense Ministry reported.
"By the decision of the Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Ibragim Gassev, for the right to participate in the final stages of international military sports competitions, which will be held in various regions of the Russian Federation, servicemen of all units of the Defense Ministry of South Ossetia will be fighting, and the best will go to the competition. During the test, the training and material base of the training ground of the Ministry of Defense will be used as much as possible," the press service said.
The teams will take part in the competitions Tank Biathlon, Sniper Frontier, Excellence in Military Intelligence, and Elbrus Ring. In addition, the team of the Defense Ministry of the Republic of South Ossetia as part of the South Ossetian cadets of the Ryazan Higher Airborne Command School named after General V. Margelov in April this year took part in the international stage of the Sayan March-2021 ski mountaineering competition held within the framework of Army-2021.
South Ossetia took part in the International Army Games for the first-time last year, and the teams of the national army showed good results.
