A gala reception dedicated to the celebration of the Day of Russia - June 12, was held on Friday in the capital of South Ossetia.
The reception was organized by the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic.
The event was attended by representatives of the leadership of South Ossetia headed by President Anatoly Bibilov, Russian Ambassador to South Ossetia Marat Kulakhmetov, head of the Rossotrudnichestvo office in the Republic Sergey Skvortsov, leaders of the South Ossetian parties, heads of the ministries and departments, Parliament members, teachers of South Ossetia, representatives of public organizations, Media and others.
At the beginning of the event, Russian Ambassador to South Ossetia Marat Kulakhmetov greeted those present and congratulated them on the upcoming holiday – the Day of Russia.
“We have gathered on the eve of a big holiday - the Day of Russia. Probably, the homeland for each person is the most beloved and closest thing in the world. The homeland is where a person was born, studies, works, where everything is native to him.
For many centuries, our predecessors have been moving forward, creating this great vast country, history, achievements. Our envious people at all times looked and resented, we always went through severe trials, but unity, unity and striving for the best overcame all adversities and we always won," he said.
Kulakhmetov noted that "thanks to the heroism and courage of our grandfathers and fathers, we are living."
“Our task is to preserve our state. We must rejoice all the time and live in the future, this is achieved by daily work,” the Ambassador emphasized.
Anatoly Bibilov has noted that South Ossetia has never distanced itself from Russia.
"The Day of Russia is a holiday for all Russian citizens and we can say with confident that this day is a holiday for many countries where citizens of the Russian Federation do not live. Today Russia is protecting the rights of many nations. Russia has no borders to help states that need it." - said Bibilov.
According to Anatoly Bibilov, the Day of Russia is a significant date for the people of the Republic and is a public holiday.
"I wish our great motherland-Russia-to be strong and prosperous," the President said.
The event continued with a festive buffet table.
