Guram Gagiev started with a victory at the European Boxing Championship among athletes under 16 years old, according to the press service of the Committee on Youth Policy and Sports of South Ossetia.
The athlete of the Boxing Youth Sports School is performing in the weight class up to 66 kg. "In the first meeting, he was opposed by the representative of Croatia Kelench Mauro. The fight did not last even one full round. The ward of a coach Atsamaz Dzigoev managed to knock down his opponent three times. After that the referee decided to stop the fight, and the victory was awarded to Guram Gagiev," the Committee noted.
The South Ossetian boxer will hold the quarterfinal meeting the day after tomorrow, on July 8.
