The first joint Russian-Algerian tactical exercises will be held in Ossetia

In October, at the Tarskoye training ground in North Ossetia, the first joint Russian-Algerian tactical exercises will be held, in which about 80 servicemen of the Southern Military District of motorized rifle formations stationed in the North Caucasus and about 80 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Algeria will be involved.

"The plan for the combat training of the troops of the Southern Military District in 2021 provides for the participation of the district's military personnel in international exercises with units of the armed forces of Abkhazia, South Ossetia, Armenia, Algeria, India, Kazakhstan, Pakistan and Egypt," the press service of the Southern Military District reports.

International joint activities are carried out in accordance with the plan of international activities and are aimed at strengthening and developing military cooperation between countries. The final planning conference on the preparation of the exercises was held in Vladikavkaz.

Representatives of the command of the 58th Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District and the Algerian National People's Army approved the timing, concept and scenario of the exercise, the composition of forces and means. During the conference, members of the delegations of the two countries agreed on the procedure for crossing the state border, accommodation and feeding the personnel, organization of logistics.

The task of the exercise is to increase the readiness of government bodies, forces and means to combat terrorism.. The servicemen will carry out tactical actions to search, detect and destroy illegal armed formations, search and destroy conventional explosive devices, conduct radiation, chemical and biological reconnaissance in buildings and on the ground.
