The delegation of Abkhazia led by President Aslan Bzhania has arrived on a three-day official visit to South Ossetia to participate in commemorative events timed to coincide with the 13th anniversary of the events of August 2008.
At the entrance to the Republic, the Abkhaz delegation was met by the head of the South Ossetian Presidential Executive Office Igor Kozaev, Foreign Minister Dmitry Medoev, Emergencies Minister Azamat Chochiev, the head of the Dzau District Administration Andrei Dzhioev and others.
The guests were received according to the Ossetian traditions - with three pies and beer.
The official delegation will take part in commemorative events dedicated to the next anniversary of the August events, which will take place in the republic on August 7-8.
President of Abkhazia will also hold talks with the head of state Anatoly Bibilov, as well as an extended meeting on cooperation between the two republics will take place.
It should be noted that this is the first official visit of Aslan Bzhania to South Ossetia. The Abkhazian delegation has also included Deputy Prime Minister, Finance Minister Vladimir Delba, Foreign Minister Daur Kove, Minister of Emergency Situations Lev Kvitsinia, Head of the State Revenue Department Beslan Kvitsinia, deputy of the People's Assembly Raul Lolua.
On Friday, the delegation also visited the "City of Angels" - a memorial cemetery in Beslan, North Ossetia, and the Beslan school, honoring the memory of the victims of the terrorist attack that occurred in 2004.
