As of August 16, 60 patients with COVID-19 are being treated in the "red zone" of the Republican Multidisciplinary Medical Center of South Ossetia, Eleonora Dzhioeva, the chief infectious disease specialist of the republic, told the “Res” news agency.
“Over the past day, three patients were hospitalized in the infectious diseases building of the Republic's medical center, and three people were also discharged for outpatient follow-up care. There is one patient in the intensive care ward,” said Dzhioeva.
The number of infected since the beginning of the pandemic is 4606 people, 3880 recovered. In total, during the pandemic in South Ossetia, 30,855 tests were carried out for coronavirus infection.
Since the beginning of May, free vaccination of the population against coronavirus by the Russian "Sputnik V" has been taking place in the Republic, residents of the Republic can get vaccinated daily seven days a week in the morning.
