President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilova reported to the residents of the Republic of South Ossetia about his work for 5 years, according to the official website of the head of state. The report is presented in a newspaper that details what has been done in the country during this time (Progress Report).
This is the construction of social facilities, schools and kindergartens, cultural facilities, housing for citizens of the Republic, roads and life support facilities within the framework of the Investment Program for the Promotion of the Socio-Economic Development of the Republic of South Ossetia.
“A medical cluster has been created in South Ossetia, in which an operating and surgical building with a hemodialysis department and a central sterilization department has been built. A modern maternity hospital with a gynecological department was put into operation, a Republican Children's Hospital was built with a medical rehabilitation center, equipped with modern equipment. At the same time, the first medical and social center for the elderly with a palliative care department was built and put into operation,” the report says.
As for the development of infrastructure in the field of education, the newspaper lists the objects that were successfully completed during the reporting period: a new building of a Russian general education school with a sports ground in the village of Leningor was put into operation; two new kindergartens and a new building of secondary school No. 3 were put into operation in Tskhinval, a gym, an assembly hall and a canteen were opened in secondary school No. 9; completed the construction of the University complex.
For a long time, the issue of providing drinking water to the population of regions and cities of the Republic of South Ossetia remained topical. The head of state spoke about the completion of the construction of an additional water conduit Vanat - Tskhinval, the construction of two reservoirs in the area of the village. Pris, as well as improving the quality of drinking water in the city of Kvaisa by modernizing the main structure of the Vezur-Kvaisa water conduit.
According to Anatoly Bibilov, the long-standing problem of handling waste from consumer production in the city of Tskhinval has also been solved.
In addition, the issue of uninterrupted supply of electricity to South Ossetia was acute. Frequent accidents on power lines, especially in winter, created a collapse and inconvenience for the population of the Republic. In this regard, on the direct instructions of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, it was decided to build a backup power line, which ensured an uninterrupted supply of electricity to the Republic of South Ossetia.
The head of state also reported on the work aimed at the construction and repair of housing and apartments that suffered in August 2008: 36 apartments and 30 households in Tskhinval were overhauled, 25 municipal apartments were restored, 120 private houses were built, 350 roofs were replaced.
The report also presents the results of the work of the Alanya Unity Charitable Foundation, the sole founder of which is Anatoly Bibilov as a private individual.
“My duty as president is to keep an account to the people. People have the right to know, and I, for my part, am obliged to provide voters with full information about the work done. Let this become a tradition for every statesman,” Anatoly Bibilov emphasized.
