Residents of the Znaur district of South Ossetia supported the internally displaced persons from the Donetsk People's Republic, who have been in the Republic since the end of February, Tatyana Tskhovrebova, children's ombudsman, told the IA “Res”.

“The residents of the village turned to help the guests from the DPR, they asked how best to do it. The staff of the Kornis village administration of the Znaur district decided to organize a fundraiser, which was used to purchase a lot of stationery for children from Donbass, as well as chess, puzzles, etc. The gifts have already been given to the children,” Tskhovrebova said.

According to her, the aid to the guests to the DNR is coming from South Ossetian citizens living outside the republic.

“A native of the village of Znaur, Tamaz Siukaev, who is now living in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, sent funds to his relative from Znaur, Louise Bekoeva, so that she could buy things for the children. Bekoeva took the children to the store, where they chose everything, they needed for themselves. The mother of one child who could not join the children on the shopping trip, Louise gave money to buy the necessary clothes for him,” the Ombudsman said.

The day before, the owner of one of the children's entertainment cafes also organized a small holiday for the children from the DPR with games and treats. On February 26, 42 people from the Donetsk People's Republic were evacuated to South Ossetia, 24 of them were children under 12 years old.
