The meeting scheduled for the end of March within the framework of the Geneva discussions has been postponed indefinitely, Konstantin Kochiev, the head of the South Ossetian delegation at the talks, State Adviser to the President of South Ossetia, told the IA “Res”.
"The date and format of the negotiations within the framework of the Geneva discussions will be discussed later," Kochiev has specified.
It should be noted that the 55th round of the Geneva discussions on security and stability in the South Caucasus was held in December, the parties once again failed to reach concrete results, they only spoke in favor of continuing joint efforts to find the ways to strengthen stability and security in the South Caucasus, agreed to hold the next round March 29-30, 2022.
The NATO's activities in the Transcaucasia make the security situation in the region difficult, representatives of South Ossetia and Abkhazia said during the 55th round of the Geneva Discussions on Security and Stability in Transcaucasia.
International discussions on security and stability in Transcaucasia are held in Geneva since 2008 with the participation of Russia, Abkhazia, South Ossetia and the United States, mediated by special representatives of the UN, the EU and the OSCE. The work is traditionally carried out in two working groups - on security and on humanitarian issues. The Geneva discussions remain the only platform for dialogue between Sukhum, Tskhinval and Tbilisi.
