The elected President of South Ossetia, Alan Gagloev, officially assumed the office of President of the Republic. The inauguration ceremony is being held for the first time at the State Drama Theater in the center of Tskhinval.
Alan Gagloev took an oath on the Constitution in two state languages - Ossetian and Russian, after which the head of the CEC, Emilia Gagieva, handed Gagloev a presidential certificate.
"Assuming the office of president imposes the highest obligations on me, the most important tasks for me are compliance with the law, respect for freedom and human rights, universal equality of citizens," said Gagloev.
According to him, a lot of work will also be carried out in the Republic to increase the level of the revenue part of the budget, solve problems in the social sphere, and raise the economy.
"These tasks are achievable with a creative spirit and joint efforts. We are obliged to use the historical chance that has been given to us. We have all the opportunities for development, thanks to the comprehensive assistance of Russia, our main ally," Gagloev has emphasized.
This is the key moment of the ceremony. The text of the oath is provided for by the Constitution. It contains a promise to respect the rights and freedoms of man and citizen, to protect the sovereignty and independence of the Republic of South Ossetia - the State of Alania.
The inauguration ceremony is attended by the first and third presidents of the Republic - Ludwig Chibirov and Leonid Tibilov, as well as the fourth president - Anatoly Bibilov.
Delegations from Russia, North Ossetia, Chechnya, KChR, KBR, Abkhazia, Nagorno-Karabakh, PMR, LPR and DPR, as well as Nicaragua.
The presidential elections in South Ossetia were held on May 8. Alan Gagloev won a landslide victory - 56.09 percent of the votes of citizens who came to the polls voted for him, that's 16,134 voters.
