President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev has met with a delegation from the Chechen Republic headed by Deputy Prime Minister of the Chechen Republic Dzhambulat Umarov and a member of the Parliament of the Chechen Republic Shaid Dzhamaldaev, who arrived in Tskhinval to participate in the inauguration ceremony of the President-elect, the press service of the head of state reports.
Greeting the guests, Alan Gagloev conveyed the words of sincere gratitude to the head of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, and expressed hope that the friendly relations that have been established between the peoples of the fraternal republics will be developing and successfully strengthening.
“We remember the hardships your people went through. But today the Chechen Republic stands firmly on its feet, implementing major projects, developing in all areas: economic, cultural, scientific... We are connected by traditions of friendship and cooperation, which we will continue to successfully strengthen and develop,” the President said.
For his part, Dzhambulat Umarov has noted that the political choice made by the South Ossetian people is respected and honored.
“We respect the choice of the people of South Ossetia and hope that it will start a new impetus for our cooperation. I would also like to convey warm congratulations from the head of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, who asked me to assure you that the Chechen people, as one of the mountain peoples of the Caucasus, were, are and remain adherents of the interests of their brothers,” he said.
