“Republic of South Ossetia is the first country to recognize the independence of the Lugansk and Donetsk People's Republics. I am confident that the bilateral relations that have developed today will reach a new level.

Representatives of South Ossetia are taking an active part in the special military operation in Donbass. We know what war is. And although hostilities are not taking place on our territory, we perceive them as our own,” he said.

The President has stressed that today the Russian Federation is doing everything possible to ensure that the special operation takes place with minimal losses, primarily from among the civilian population.

“And we will not stand aside,” said the head of the South Ossetian state.

For his part, Vladislav Deinego congratulated Alan Gagloev on taking office as President of the Republic.

“Indeed, the situation we have is difficult, Leonid Ivanovich could not personally be present here. But, as soon as the situation allows, we would like to hold a summit meeting so that you have the opportunity to discuss with the head of the Luhansk People's Republic current issues of interaction between our states and development prospects in a single Russian world,” he said.

Vladislav Deinego has also noted that South Ossetia recognized the independence of the Luhansk and Donetsk People's Republics at the most difficult time.

“At the very beginning of our path, we received very serious support, the support of glorious warriors who stood up to protect our rights,” he said.
